[Phew] Well, I'm half back anyway. I'm at my grandparents house in the middle of nowhere so hopefully this gets through. I thought that I should just discuss what everyone else is discussing. Which would be Israel. And the starting of a war. Everyone knows what it's about and it's been on the media like crazy. What I want to know is what people think about it.

I think that Israel has every right to defend themselves. Period. There shouldn't even be a disagreement. If a terrorist came into America and killed our soldiers and kidnapped some, we wouldn't let them get away. Would we?

Plus if you look at the history, Israel has been put through a lot of crap. This was the last straw. Quite frankly, I'm proud of them for standing up for themselves. I had a better rant but, this internet is much to slow (DON'T EVER GET DIAL UP!!) and my relatives broke my thoughts right in the middle of this post.

So I'll say...This rant is to be continued until I have further information to help out my opinions.

Go here to see how to get to a huge list of the atrocities perpetrated on Israel--for decades! IMO, what Israel is doing right now is WAAAAY overdue.

One thing to watch out for from the msm--the idea that other Arab states are not supporting Hezbollah. See this for information which is not making the news.

Great to have you back!

I think all the Israelis should pack up and get the hell out of the God forsaken hell hole and relocate to the American Bible Belt where they will be warmly welcomed by the Christian Zionists who are all for Israeli because they love the Jews just that much.

Hey, glad to see you're back. I've missed reading your posts! So I agree with you--Israel should have a right to defend themselves and it will be interesting to see turn of events. Let's just hope that Syria and Iran stay out, because I'm sure that would force the US to get involved on Israel's side. That could get ugly.

Go Israel!

Yah, I'm going on vacation next week and my parents have dial-up so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to blog.

I agree w/your rant and I posted on who Hezbollah is and they definitely need to be wiped out. Israel is doing the world a favor by taking them and their weapon supply out.

On the subject of Isreal defending itself, it's like somebody stood on your toe on purpose to annoy you and in retalitation you tried to rip his arms and legs off. Their retaliation was out of all proportion. I know Jews have suffered over the centuries, but they do not have the copywrite on suffering. If anything their experiences should help them to empathise with the suffering of others instead of creating more hardship in Gaza and Southern Lebanon.

Be careful what you write before you learn the facts and history, not just the propaganda.

Israeli's, since the "Israeli's" won their independence in 1949, have been responsible for the deaths of more than 3 times the number of Arab Palestinians than the Arab Palestinians have the Jewish Israeli's. Furthermore, if you analayze history carefully, you'll understand why the Arabs hate the west so much. The only way that the Israeli's were EVER able to gain their independence was through the funding of the support of the UN. The United States, specifically, has been supplying them with munitions since the end of WWII.

Until 1917, both Jews and Arabs occupied ALL of Palestine (What we now know as Israel and Jordan), but following WWI, it was divided into two seperate states, segregating the Arabs from the Jews. The Jews agreed to this, but the Arabs would not be kicked out of ANY part of their holy land.

It was originally the intention of the Arab's to completely exterminate the Jews, and they would have done so after WWII if the UN hadn't backed Israel. Obviously, the war and fighting is ridiculous, but if you are an Arab, so is the thought of being excluded from land that you believe is yours by divine providence.

All in all, no, Israel is never justified in striking back, nor are Arab's justified in desecrating their holy land with violence. What the region needs is the reformation of a Christian/Jewish/Arab Palestine.
